Guardiola laughs as Man City finalizes major signing despite an offer from Arsenal and last-minute interest from Liverpool.

Manchester City have announced their latest signing, which is being celebrated as a major achievement after outmaneuvering three of their top Premier League rivals, including Liverpool and Arsenal.

Last season, Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool were the top three Premier League clubs, and many expect them to be the main title contenders again next season.

Liverpool have yet to make a summer signing, while Arsenal has secured David Raya on a permanent deal and strengthened their defense with Riccardo Calafiori.

In contrast, reigning champions Manchester City have added the dynamic winger Savio from their sister club Girona. However, Pep Guardiola’s team might be on the verge of losing Julian Alvarez.

The Argentine’s frustration with being sidelined behind Erling Haaland is well-known, and both Atletico Madrid and PSG are working to secure his transfer.

According to journalist Gaston Edul, who has extensive knowledge of Argentine players, Atletico are preparing a €60m bid. PSG has already submitted an offer that Edul has described as ‘superior’ to Atletico’s anticipated bid.

However, it’s not all bad news for Guardiola. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed a significant coup for Man City.

Romano reported in late June that City were set to outmaneuver Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea in the race for Chelsea academy talent Ryan McAidoo. The highly-rated 16-year-old left-footed winger, who has been capped by England at the Under-17 level and helped Chelsea win the U17 Premier League Cup last season, decided to leave Chelsea.

Despite Arsenal initially being seen as the frontrunners and later reports suggesting Liverpool might secure McAidoo, it was Manchester City who prevailed. Romano’s latest update confirms that City has successfully completed the deal for McAidoo.

Man City complete ‘marquee’ signing – Fabrizio Romano

Fabrizio Romano took to X to describe Manchester City’s latest acquisition as a “marquee” signing. He reported: “Manchester City have finalized a deal to sign Ryan McAidoo, who has departed Chelsea Academy this summer.

The 2008-born talent joins Man City on a long-term deal, marking a major signing for the City Academy and a significant achievement for Thomas Krucken (City Academy Director) and Sam Fagbemi (head of recruitment for the academy).”

This move might also serve as a form of redemption for Man City after their significant error in selling Cole Palmer to Chelsea last summer. Despite initial skepticism over Chelsea’s £42.5m investment in Palmer, the forward quickly disproved the doubts with a standout first season, earning Chelsea’s Player of the Year award.
