Manchester United might come to regret their choice not to hire Thomas Tuchel, who has now taken the helm of another English team.
The 51-year-old manager was officially announced on Wednesday, following speculation that he would join Manchester United.
However, when asked about his decision to accept his current position instead of the Manchester role, the former PSG manager avoided addressing it directly.
In a press conference, Tuchel shared his reasoning: “Mark (Bullingham, FA general manager) and John (McDermott, men’s team technical director) presented me with a very convincing and clear plan.
My decision was about accepting this job, not about turning down another.”
Tuchel was expected to join Manchester United earlier this year, but the club chose Erik ten Hag instead.
Now, with United struggling in 14th place in the Premier League and Ten Hag facing increasing pressure due to a poor start, the club might regret their decision—especially if Ten Hag is dismissed and Tuchel becomes unavailable.
