Arne Slot leaves pundits in stitches with brutal Jamie Carragher dig live on Sky Sports following Liverpool win

Arne Slot took a jab at Jamie Carragher.

Arne Slot made a pointed remark towards Jamie Carragher during a live segment on Sky Sports after Liverpool’s 2-0 win against Brentford.

Liverpool started their home Premier League season with a solid 2-0 victory over Brentford on Sunday.

Under Arne Slot, Liverpool showcased dominant play at Anfield, potentially winning by an even larger margin.

Luis Diaz scored the opening goal in the 13th minute after a quick counter-attack, and Mohamed Salah added another goal 20 minutes before the final whistle.

Slot has now won both of his Premier League matches, following his team’s 2-0 triumph over Ipswich the previous week.

Sky Sports pundits Jamie Carragher, Jamie Redknapp, and Izzy Christiansen were impressed by Liverpool’s more controlled performance compared to the high-energy style of former manager Jurgen Klopp.

They were eager to speak with the new Liverpool manager, so much so that presenter Kelly Cates had to interrupt Carragher when Slot arrived for his post-match interview.

Carragher was speaking when he noticed Cates looking past him at Slot, who was approaching to join them.

The Liverpool legend remarked, “I’m talking to you, and you’re not even looking at me!”

In greeting the team, Slot humorously commented about Carragher, “Does anyone ever listen to him?”

Carragher’s colleagues found Slot’s comment amusing, and Carragher himself took it well.

The former Liverpool defender posted a clip of the moment on X, with the caption: “Arne Slot just putting me away on his Anfield debut!!”

Slot’s next challenge is a match at Old Trafford against Manchester United on Sunday, August 1, where he will face fellow Dutch coach Erik ten Hag.
