Liverpool star Mohamed Salah stated after their victory over Manchester United that this could be his final year with the club.
The Egyptian forward revealed that he has not yet been offered a new contract, suggesting he may leave Merseyside.
Salah played a pivotal role in Liverpool’s latest triumph at Old Trafford, contributing to all three goals by providing two assists to Luis Diaz and scoring one himself.
Despite his impressive performance, Liverpool fans might be concerned about his comments regarding his future. Arne Slot, however, chose to focus on Salah’s outstanding display rather than his contract situation.
“It’s a lot of ‘ifs,’ but right now he’s one of ours, and I’m very pleased with his performance,” Slot said, as quoted by The Standard. “He played exceptionally well. I don’t discuss player contracts, but I can talk endlessly about Mo’s performance today. Are you interested in that?”
With three goals and three assists so far this season, Salah has had a stellar start. He has scored in every match, helping his team secure second place in the league, just behind reigning champions Manchester City.
Liverpool should extend Mo Salah’s contract. Salah remains among the top players globally in his position and is arguably the best in the league, alongside Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne.
The Reds cannot afford to lose him soon, as replacing his level of performance would be incredibly challenging.
Arne Slot has quickly maximized Salah’s contributions, and he will be hoping Salah maintains his impressive form throughout the season.
