Barcelona are interested in signing Arsenal star in the upcoming transfer window

This summer, Barcelona signed Dani Olmo and Pau Victor for the first team but did not acquire any new midfielders. Hansi Flick was pleased with the development of young talents Marc Bernal and Marc Casado and was awaiting the return of injured players Gavi and De Jong. Looking ahead, Barcelona is interested in adding an Arsenal star in the upcoming transfer window.

Bernal’s serious knee injury is a significant blow to Flick’s plans, and reports from England suggest that Barcelona will seek to sign a midfielder to bolster their squad next season on a free transfer.

According to the Catalan newspaper “Sport,” Barcelona is interested in Thomas Partey, the 31-year-old Ghanaian international whose contract with Arsenal runs until 2025.

Partey has been crucial for Arsenal this season, scoring in all three of his full Premier League matches. However, it’s uncertain if Arsenal will offer him a new contract due to his age and current form.

With the arrival of Mikel Merino and the potential for Declan Rice to shift to a deeper role, Partey might see reduced playing time.

Barcelona may find Partey’s experience in La Liga and European competitions appealing, but they face competition.

Juventus is considering offering him a three-year deal, Atletico Madrid is interested in bringing him back, and Saudi clubs Al Hilal and Al Ahli could present attractive salary offers.
