Jurgen Klopp Eyes Young Barcelona Players for Red Bull
Jurgen Klopp is quickly settling into his new role at Red Bull, already identifying potential transfer targets for his upcoming clubs. After leaving Liverpool at the end of last season, he was expected to take a break, but by October 9, 2024, he had secured a new position.
Although his official start is in the New Year, Klopp is actively scouting for new signings. According to journalist Sebastian Vidal, he has a particular interest in two young talents from Barcelona: Aleix Garrido and Noah Darvich, who are seen as ideal fits for the Red Bull system.
Garrido, mainly a player for Barcelona’s B-team, made a brief substitute appearance for the first team under Xavi. Despite suffering a metatarsal fracture in March that has sidelined him this season, he remains one of Barcelona’s top young prospects at just 20 years old.
Darvich, who joined Barcelona from SC Freiburg last summer, has made a strong impression since his arrival. The 18-year-old participated in the club’s pre-season but has yet to debut in a competitive match for the senior squad. He captained the German Under-17 team that won both the World Cup and European Championships in 2023.
Red Bull clubs are known for developing young talent into stars, with successful graduates like Dani Olmo, Erling Haaland, and Josko Gvardiol. It remains to be seen whether Garrido and Darvich will follow a similar trajectory or continue their development at Barcelona.
