Liverpool player Trent Alexander-Arnold is reportedly interested in buying FC Nantes from Ligue 1. The right-back has previously considered club ownership with his family, and an opportunity has emerged after Kylian Mbappe became a major shareholder at SM Caen.
According to L’Equipe, Alexander-Arnold had looked into purchasing AS Saint-Etienne but is now focused on FC Nantes.
A video conference took place between him and current owner Waldemar Kita, who is looking to sell the club after being contacted by Alexander-Arnold’s representatives.
The defender reportedly made an initial offer of £67 million, plus an additional £16.7 million later, along with £33.5 million in potential add-ons.
However, Kita responded by seeking an external audit before ultimately rejecting the proposal. A follow-up meeting occurred to discuss the deal further, but the public nature of the negotiations has strained relations, with Kita expressing anger over the situation being exposed publicly.
