‘Here we go for Liverpool fans’ – Romano provides first major transfer update as deal confirmed.

Fabrizio Romano is closely associated with transfer windows, but this summer, his involvement with Liverpool has been minimal—until now. He recently announced on X that Fábio Carvalho will be transferred to Brentford for a permanent deal, with Liverpool receiving a fixed fee of £20m plus additional add-ons. It’s surprising that Liverpool is letting the 21-year-old go, especially after a promising summer showing.

Despite a largely disappointing stint at Anfield, Carvalho’s determination to play regularly is commendable. With competition for playing time heightened by Arne Slot’s use of him on the left wing during friendlies, it’s understandable.

Accepting just £20m for a player acquired for £5m seems like a solid deal. We wish Carvalho the best in his future endeavors, hoping this move proves more successful than his previous stint with RB Leipzig. Fulham will also receive a portion of the fee, making this a favorable transaction for Liverpool.
