‘I have to’: Federico Chiesa says there’s something he now really needs to thank Liverpool supporters for

Liverpool’s attention is now back on football following the end of the summer transfer window.

The transfer period was less than ideal for the Reds, as they only managed to sign one new player for immediate impact.

As they gear up to face Manchester United on Sunday, Liverpool might have preferred adding a couple more new players. However, the one addition they did make, Federico Chiesa from Juventus, appears to be a great acquisition at a bargain price.

Chiesa’s arrival has been met with enthusiasm, and the Italian has been visibly happy since the transfer was finalized.

He thanked Liverpool fans in a video posted on the club’s official X account, expressing his gratitude for their warm welcome. Chiesa, who trained with his new teammates for the first time on Friday, was clearly delighted with the reception he received.

Unfortunately, Chiesa is unlikely to feature in the match against Manchester United, as confirmed by Arne Slot. This will allow him more time to acclimate to his new environment.

Chiesa is also not included in Italy’s squad for the upcoming international fixtures, providing him additional time to settle in at Liverpool.

He seems to have quickly adapted to the AXA Training Centre, and despite Liverpool missing out on Martin Zubimendi this summer, it’s refreshing to see Chiesa so eager to join the team.

Although Chiesa may initially serve as a backup to Mohamed Salah on the right wing, his enthusiasm suggests he could also compete for a position on the left.

His early positive impression with fans could further enhance his reputation if he performs well on the field.
