Laporta and Nike team up to sign elite player to lead Barcelona: The player will be the most prominent after Messi’s departure

Nike is urging Barcelona to quickly secure a deal for a major global star in the upcoming summer transfer window.

To facilitate this, Barcelona must first sell players to generate the necessary funds, with Ronald Araujo and Frenkie de Jong being the primary candidates for departure.

So far, Barcelona has only finalized two signings this summer: Pau Victor and Dani Olmo. Nico Williams chose to remain at Athletic Bilbao.

The club hopes to improve its financial situation by 2025 to enable further signings.

Spanish newspaper El Nacional reports that, despite efforts by Joan Laporta and Deco to sign the Spanish international, this target is no longer a top priority.

Instead, Nike is advocating for a player with a higher global profile, such as Erling Haaland, especially given uncertainties about his future at Manchester City.

With Pep Guardiola’s contract expiring on June 30, Haaland may consider a move for a new challenge.

Haaland has expressed interest in La Liga but is hesitant to join Real Madrid due to the competition with Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior, which might limit his ability to stand out.
