Liverpool are reportedly in advanced discussions with RB Salzburg to facilitate a loan move for Stefan Bajcetic.
The 19-year-old midfielder may struggle to secure the playing time he desires this season, given that Arne Slot favors Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, and Ryan Gravenberch in midfield.
Although highly regarded by the Dutch manager and seen as a promising future number six, the new Liverpool manager believes Bajcetic would benefit from continued development away from Anfield.
RB Salzburg is not the only club interested in Bajcetic; several La Liga teams are also keen. However, given Lijnders’ connections and influence, it is expected that Bajcetic will opt for a move to the Red Bull Arena.
Since his promotion to Liverpool’s first team two years ago, Bajcetic, who has three years remaining on his contract, has appeared in 22 matches across all competitions.
His sole goal to date came against Aston Villa in the Premier League on Boxing Day of the 2022-23 season.
