Real Madrid is reportedly considering an early move to sign Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, potentially during the January transfer window instead of waiting for his contract to expire next summer. While some media sources have discussed this possibility, journalist James Pearce has suggested that the likelihood of such a deal is low.
Nevertheless, speculation persists, particularly in Spain, where it is proposed that Real Madrid could make a player-plus-cash offer to persuade Liverpool to sell their key defender.
One report indicates that Madrid might propose around €25 million (about £20.9 million) along with midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, who joined the club for €100 million (approximately £85 million) in 2022. Although Tchouameni would add significant value to the deal, Madrid is said to have excluded Brazilian forward Rodrygo from negotiations.
Despite Madrid’s interest and Tchouameni’s potential impact, Liverpool is unlikely to accept this offer. Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool’s vice-captain, is considered crucial to Jurgen Klopp’s squad due to his technical skills, leadership, and playmaking ability.
