Liverpool star who started against Ipswich an injury doubt for Sunday confirms Arne Slot

Liverpool coach Arne Slot has revealed that Jarell Quansah is a doubt for the Reds’ upcoming match against Brentford due to an injury.

Quansah sustained the injury during training on Tuesday and was unable to participate in Wednesday’s session. On Friday, he was absent from team training, raising concerns about his availability for Liverpool’s first home game of the season on Sunday.

In his Friday morning press conference, Slot confirmed that Quansah’s injury occurred earlier in the week and mentioned they would assess his condition later in the day to determine if he could play on the weekend.

The timing of Quansah’s injury is unfortunate, as he was substituted at halftime in the match against Ipswich Town last Saturday after struggling with duels. Despite a strong pre-season and being a likely starter alongside Virgil van Dijk, this setback casts doubt on his immediate return to the starting lineup.

However, Slot and Quansah will work together over the coming weeks to address the issue, and the young defender is expected to regain his place in the team soon.
